When the medication doesn't go to plan...

Updated: Nov 3, 2022

Anyone who has lived with epilepsy in their family will know that finding the right medication is not a simple journey. In fact, it has taken Thomas almost 2 years to find a medication that works reliably at controlling his symptoms.

Regular neurological tests have helped pin point the areas of his brain which need a little help.

Parents will typically find that epilepsy is not a single diagnosis, it is usually the beginning of a neurodiverse journey. Thomas also has a number of special educational needs now. He is significantly behind his fellow classmates, but he is very switched on in his own way. ADHD affects Thomas' ability to focus but his teachers have been incredibly supportive. In fact, we could say that they are partly responsible for Thomas' new business venture! He has found new ways of learning and his business venture has opened so many doors for him both academically and socio-emotionally. We could not be more proud and grateful! ❤️
